Focus on screenings in schools

Since the beginning of the year, the Foundation has organized and supervised screenings conducted by school nurses for 6th-grade classes at various middle schools in the area.

We were approached by Senlis (Magnard and Fontaine des Prés Middle Schools) and Villers-Saint-Paul (Emile Lambert Middle School). In each case, an initiative of the school counselor, the school principal, or the school nurses (pictured above: Catherine Plissard and Anne Dupasquier from Senlis) was the catalyst for our intervention.

Physical education teachers were also involved: while some students learned about scoliosis (and good posture!), others took a physical education class focused on balance and core strength (pictured below, in Villers Saint Paul).

Of course, at each stage, the nurses at these facilities are supported by healthcare professionals who are all volunteers; it is their dedication alone that makes these sessions possible.

Our next events will take place in the North, in Villeneuve d’Ascq, which we consider our “laboratory,” as the combined goodwill of elected officials, healthcare professionals, and other local partners grows stronger year after year. We will organizing our next Scolimpiades, there during International Scoliosis Awareness Month.
