Tristan Langlais is a surgeon and university professor at the Children’s Hospital of the Toulouse University Hospital. His clinical, research and teaching activities are dedicated to the management of spinal deformities in children and adolescents.
He obtained his national diploma as a spine surgeon and was able to reinforce his knowledge and technical training in numerous national (Institut Calot in Berck-sur-Mer, Hôpital Necker Enfants in Paris, Hôpital Trousseau in Paris, CHU de Nice) and international (New York Presbytarian hospital in the USA, Keio university hospital in Japan, Turku university hospital in Finland) centers.

With a PhD in human biomechanics from the Arts et Métiers de Paris (Institut de Biomécanique Humaine Georges Charpak), his research focuses on the search for biomechanical markers for the early diagnosis of progressive scoliosis. Currently attached to the biomechanics laboratory of the Institute of Fluid Mechanics in Toulouse, he devotes his research time to the diagnosis and therapeutic evaluation of scoliosis using biomechanical markers derived from recent technologies such as quantitative imaging and molecular biology.
An active member of numerous learned societies, including the SRS (Scoliosis Research Society) and the SFCR (Société Française de Chirurgie du Rachis), he has contributed to some 100 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, the majority of which concern scoliosis.
