Since its creation in 1999, the Fondation Yves Cotrel pour la Recherche en Pathologie Rachidienne has focused on its core research theme: etiology of idiopathic scoliosis.

Over last 24 years, the Foundation has supported  80 research projects from all over the world. They are undertaken in different disciplines, yet they all aim to identify the causes and evolutive mechanisms of idiopathic scoliosis.

The challenge of identifying the causes and mechanisms in the evolution of idiopathic scoliosis is ambitious, but the need to further conduct investigations is still essential.

These research orientations will be accepted this year :
* etiology of idiopathic scoliosis
* defining idiopathic scoliosis phenotype
* basic science projects on degenerative scoliosis (etiology, factor of progression, etc.)

The projects can be undertaken in various scientific areas such as biomechanics, neurology, neurosensory, genetics or metabolic studies, etc.

Applicants may submit their projects via our online form : or to the following address: Conseil.scientifique @ fondationcotrel.org

Deadline is April 19th, 2024.
