Since its creation in 1999, the Fondation Yves Cotrel pour la Recherche en Pathologie Rachidienne has focused on its core research theme: The Etiology of Idiopathic Scoliosis.

In the last 20 years, the Foundation has supported more than 66 research projects with different approach from all over the world.

The challenge of identifying the causes and mechanisms in the evolution of idiopathic scoliosis is ambitious, but the need to further conduct investigations is still essential.

As has been the case for the past 20 years, the Foundation is still funding research projects that aim at detecting progressive forms of scoliosis or understanding the mechanisms responsible for these deformations.

The projects can be undertaken in various scientific areas such as Biomechanics, Neurology, Neurosensory, Genetics or Metabolic Studies, etc.

Applicants may submit their projects via our online form or to the following address:
Dr Nicolas Plais (plais @ and/or
